Masgutova is a gentle touch and movement therapy that works to reintegrate reflexes that have been thrown off when the body suffers a trauma. I’ve been doing this therapy every few months for three years and have seen definite results. My body in general feels less weak. My shoulders and back are not constantly hunched over. I no longer walk at a slow pace, dragging my feet. Perhaps most significantly, after my concussion my body was in constant fight or flight. I starting getting bad anxiety that I had never experienced prior to the concussion. My heart rate would increase and adrenaline would flow in perfectly normal situations. After two and half years of doing Masgutova therapy, my body finally stopped having disordered fight or flight responses to stimuli. The therapist who I specifically go to is Amy Lukos in Chicago.
